What sending options are available when using Email to SMS?

We have four variations of the @EmailDomain, listed below, that provide different features:

  1. @sms.textapp.net – sends out the entire email content (subject and body) to the recipient to a maximum of 918 characters (six message credits). The message will be sent with a reply path number attached allowing the recipient to respond by text with the response directed back to the originating email address.
  2. @sms160.textapp.net – only sends one SMS out, regardless of the length of your email. Only the first 160 characters of your email’s subject and body are contained in the single SMS. The message will be sent with a reply path number attached allowing the recipient to respond by text with the response directed back to the originating email address.
  3. @smsid.textapp.net – sends out the entire email content (subject and body) to the recipient to a maximum of 918 characters (six message credits). Instead of a reply path the first 11 characters from the email subject line will replace the reply path number – the recipient will not be able to respond by text.
  4. @sms160id.textapp.net – only sends one SMS out, regardless of the length of your email. Only the first 160 characters of your email’s body are contained in the single SMS. Additionally, the first 11 characters of the email’s subject are sent with the SMS.

To ensure that any email signature or disclaimer is not sent out with your message body, enter $$ at the end of the relevant message body. Upon receiving your email, our service will only send out the message body before the $$, discarding all content after the $$.
