Sending SMS
How do I send a message to a one off number, rather than a contact from an address book?
Instead of sending your composed text message to recipients within your address books, you can enter the phone numbers of the recipients directly in to the ONE-OFF NUMBER area.
You can enter up to 20 mobile phone numbers, separated by semi-colons (“;”). There are two acceptable formats for the phone number:
- Local country phone number. For a phone number in your country, enter the number as you would dial it, without any spaces or Country Code. For example, the mobile phone number “(07775) 987 654”, should be entered as 07775987654.
- International phone number. For an international phone number, the number must be entered in full international format, beginning with a “+” and the Country Code and without any leading zeros, spaces or brackets. For example, “0033 (783) 12 34 56” should be entered as “+33783123456”.
- Landline number. When sending an SMS to a landline phone, please ensure that you send a phone number with the message, and not letters. Please select one of the reply options, rather than the NO REPLY, SEND 11 CHARACTERS option. Otherwise the SMS will not be delivered.
Please ensure that you only send messages to landlines between 0800 and 2200.
