Keep it short and sweet 

Text messages have a limit of 160 characters, so it’s vital to keep messages short and to the point, but with a clear call to action. Make it clear why you are sending the message in the first place, and why the user should follow it up. Using a link shortening tool such as goo.gl or bit.ly can also help messages look less untidy

Segment your audience 

There’s nothing worse than receiving a text message that is completely irrelevant to you. Make sure you target your audience correctly and that you’re sending appropriate content.

Timing is everything

Whilst the open rate of a text message tops 99%, sending a text message in the middle of the night could be damaging to end results. There is no right or wrong time to send a message, but careful consideration as well as trial and error will ultimately help in understanding when the best time is to send your text message.
